The Kickstarter campaign for Verwald's Treasures has successfully concluded! If you missed the campaign, you can still pre-order the puzzles from our store.

Verwald's Treasures is the sequel to my puzzle hunt What's That Spell. Verwald's Treasures will have over 30 puzzles, multiple metapuzzles with physical artifacts, and even a meta-metapuzzle tying everything together. Verwald's Treasures will be coming to Kickstarter in January 2018, and the puzzles are expected to be delivered in the summer of 2018.

In 2016, I ran my first Kickstarter campaign for the puzzle hunt What's That Spell. The campaign was a success, and although there were some delays in getting the puzzles and physical artifacts delivered to backers, I was pleased with the end result. Now, in 2018, I'm back for more.

In What's That Spell, solvers matched wits with the wizard Verwald. Years later, you receive a package from Verwald, with an enticing message. The great wizard has certain artifacts in his collection that he wishes to give away to a worthy recipient, and he has invited you to come and prove your worth. You can only imagine what wondrous treasures Verwald might have to offer, and you eagerly set out to claim your reward.

Verwald's Treasures will consist of over 30 puzzles, with multiple metapuzzles and a meta-metapuzzle. The metapuzzles and meta-metapuzzle will use physical artifacts, and this time, the artifacts will make use of all three spatial dimensions. Verwald's Treasures can be solved live in Boston in July and August 2018, or from the comfort of your own living room. Familiarity with What's That Spell is not required to solve Verwald's Treasures, though Verwald's Treasures will include spoilers for parts of What's That Spell.

The Kickstarter campaign for Verwald's Treasures ran in January and February of 2018, raising over $20000. Stretch goals for the campaign included bonus puzzles from a wide variety of guest constructors. Now that the Kickstarter campaign has concluded, Verwald's Treasures is available for purchase through the Tortoiseshell Studio store.
